Roe vs. Wade and Jeremiah 1:10

"See, I have this day set thee over the nations and over the kingdoms, to root out, and to pull down, and to destroy, and to throw down, to build, and to plant." Jeremiah 1:10

Jeremiah was a reluctant prophet, but he was obedient to the Lord. The Lord , here instructed him to be proactive in his morally decadent country. He instructed him to be an instrument for CHANGE!

These words struck me in my heart yesterday morning. We need to "root out, and to pull down, and to destroy" the Roe vs. Wade decision. It was a sham to begin with. If you haven't read the details of the trials, it would be worth your time to look up the details of this case which sparked mass murder of the unborn in our land.
 As I write these words, I realize that some will think I've gone off the edge, so to speak. I'm looking at the truth in black and white when I read the statistics and the history of abortion in this land. I know that God is speaking to my heart and no one who lives without the influence and direction of the Holy Spirit will have a clue as to what I'm talking about.
  President Obama ran on a ticket of "change" and now we see just what some of this change means. He is backing a plan for health care which will make your tax dollars pay to exterminate unwanted babies! Who could not be outraged about this?
  God is going to judge this nation more severely if this plan goes through.
  Right now there are two choices: the Senate plan and the House plan. Our President is backing the Senate plan which will mean that federal tax dollars will fund abortions. Let's pray that the right decisions will be made.

Those Endless Genealogies and Our Importance to God

  How many people, when reading the Bible, skip over the genealogical records? We do it, while guilt creeps in around us, not quite understanding the importance of them.

  Why does God include these long lists of names in Scripture? We often stumble over them in our pronunciation and quite frankly, we often miss the point of their inclusion.
  Two reasons that I can think of are that they were written as historical records in order to prove legal descent, and they were also written to confirm prophecy. The entire Bible speaks of, prophesies of, and confirms the birth of, life of, and Kingship of Jesus. It also speaks of Jesus in the role of our High Priest and Prophet, but we are not tackling those offices today!
  The book of Luke provides Jesus' genealogy from Mary and tells us of His human descent and  His bloodline, from King David. Joseph, Jesus' earthly father, has his legal descent from David chronicled in the book of Matthew. This proves the prophecy that Jesus would be born of the house of David.
  Another reason, which jumps out at me, is that each name, in the seemingly endless lists of names, is of importance to our Creator. We are all united in His creation. We break that unity when we deny our faith in Him and deny Him as Creator. However every one of us is important to God. After all, he sent His only begotten Son that "the world" might be saved through faith in Him.*

  Each unborn child has the right to learn about life on this earth and the privilege to make a choice for Jesus to be the Lord of his or her life. Each child deserves the chance to grow in relationship with Jesus. Each one deserves the chance to grow and take his or her place as a rightful heir of God their Father which they earn by belief in His Son. **

  Each child deserves to take their first breath of life as Adam was given life the very day that God breathed life into him.
  Every child, since Adam and Eve, has been important to God. Thus, the endless genealogies. And by the way, the people in the genealogies were not perfect; all were sinners in need of a Savior!
  Who are we, that we believe we have the right to cut these lists short by the unnatural termination of pregnancies? God has given each one of us the gift of life. These lives are not ours to kill. They are God's and so we must allow these little ones to live.

  Percy also wrote, "Such vexed subjects as the soul, God, and the nature of man are not at issue. What we are talking about and what nobody I know would deny is the clear continuum that exists in the life of every individual from the moment of fertilization of a single cell.There is a wonderful irony here. It is this: The onset of individual life is not a dogma of the church but a fact of science."

King Solomon wrote in Ecclesiastes 11:5
      "As you do not know the path of the wind,
       or how the body is formed  in a mother's womb,
       so you cannot understand the work of God,
       the Maker of all things."

  Human life begins with the fertilization of one cell. As Percy comments, that's basic biological knowledge. I Corinthians 3:19(a) tells us, "For the wisdom of this world is foolishness with God." If we take the word "dogma" to mean doctrine, or set of beliefs, then I would have to say that yes, in fact, in what I see in the Bible, and as a member of the great church of God which includes all believers in the deity of Christ, life does start at conception. This is my belief. Here, science backs up the Bible.

  What is mysterious and wondrous is the miracle of God's love in His creation of all life. We certainly make a mess of things, as human beings. We take what is lovely and of God and twist it up and misinterpret and somehow make it ugly. We take the miracle of life and trample upon it and call it abortion; we call that a right! While we don't completely understand the miracles behind the science, let's strive to stay in God's perfect will and respect life, which He created.....whether we fully comprehend it, or not.

At What Cost....Health Care Bill comments

  Weeping for her children.....Jeremiah 31:15, quoted in Matthew 2:18 when we learn how Herod massacred the babies in Bethlehem in an attempt to kill the baby Jesus, has been running through my mind this morning. 
  
   "Thus saith the LORD; A voice was heard in Ramah, lamentation, and bitter weeping; Rahel (Rachel) weeping for her children refused to be comforted for her children, because they were not."*

  The health care bill we've all heard so much about has been passed by the Senate this Christmas Eve morning in a 60-39 vote. Why the rush? An almost 400 page ammendment to this bill was just added on Sat. morning. The last time a vote was rushed through the Senate in this country on Christmas Eve was in 1895 and it was a worthy act, providing federal funds for servicemen.

  This bill has not been given enough time to be analyzed, thought about or  prayed over. 

  Why the rush?

  The lure of decent health care for all is tantalizing to those of us who care about others! After all, didn't Jesus teach us to take care of each other? To love each other is our second greatest commandment behind loving God. This is where the deception lies. Our government pretends to be our "Big Brother" or our loving parent. The news media is reluctant to talk about secret meetings and closed door deals that are made in order to buy votes. Part of the reason is that they really don't know exactly what goes on behind closed doors. Much of the news is biased.

  That's what's been happening in Washington this week. Votes that  Pro-lifers depended on were lost in bargaining sessions. Read the news, but read between the lines. Deception rules the day in Washington on Dec. 24, 2009.

  This gargantuan, misunderstood bill claims that in 10 years 11% more people will be insured.

  If it's going to take 10 years to realize these goals, then why the rush to vote on Christmas Eve morning?

Pray for our Country, Pray for our President

  "WASHINGTON (Reuters) - Senate Democrats reached a compromise on Saturday with the last holdout senator that secured the 60 votes they need to pass a broad healthcare overhaul sought by President Barack Obama."
  I love this country. I love the ideals this country supposedly stands for which I first learned about as a kid in school. I loved those thrilling words of Patrick Henry which I first read in my fourth grade history class, "...give me liberty or give me death!"  Please read the previous posting of the speech he gave which culminates with these heroic words.
  This speech was written as a prelude to the Revolutionary War. It was a ferocious time with lives lost on both sides and injuries and losses were great as in all wars. No thinking caring, reasonable person likes war. Our founding fathers deemed that war to be necessary to secure our freedoms. I despise war, but I am afraid that the storm clouds of an inner war in this country, are rising.
  Right now in Washington DC, a 2000 page bill is being pushed through our House of Representatives while the nation digs out from snow and prepares for the Christmas holiday season. We're wrapping pretty presents and the politicians are wrapping up a dirty package which is going to be disagreeable to nearly every citizen of this country. When I was a child learning about the wonders of our democratic form of government, I was comfortable in knowing that the majority rules by vote. I can remember my wise mother, however, mentioning that it was not always the case. I think of her remarks now as our politicians are working very hard on pulling off something that the majority of the American public disagrees with. We also, have not been given enough time to learn all of the necessary information in order that we may make a reasonable assessment of this bill.
  (I will not discuss the financial workings or the debates about how many Americans actually can't get health care because this blog is solely about abortion and a baby's right to live.)
  Fact: Support for abortion is falling as Americans are given more information about this gruesome practice.

  Supposition: How can any of our representatives fully understand this complicated 2000 page document,
which keeps changing, in such a short amount of time? I don't think they can.
  This much, I do know: we're being railroaded into federally paying for abortions! Don't just read the headlines; read the fine print. The money may be pooled differently, but it's still government money. It's your money and mine. This is one of the main reasons why I left the United Methodist Church. I did not want to pay to support abortions. Most people, sitting in the pews, do not realize where all of their money goes.
   Back to Patrick Henry: please carefully read his stirring words. He had faith in God. He believed in Jesus Christ, I know from reading his other writings. He felt that the people of this land were being pushed into a war because the British government was not allowing them freedom, and, in fact, they were being threatened.
   If this health care bill goes through and you decide not to purchase the plan, you will be in violation of the law. Think about this carefully. If you decide not to purchase, you will be breaking the law. What will your punishment be?
  This is an extreme undermining of the whole free market system. Welcome to socialism; welcome to communism.We're all going to get an education, and it's not going to be about Patrick Henry. It's not going to be about freedom.

But different men often see the same subject in different lights; and, therefore, I hope it will not be thought disrespectful to those gentlemen if, entertaining as I do opinions of a character very opposite to theirs, I shall speak forth my sentiments freely and without reserve. This is no time for ceremony. The question before the house is one of awful moment to this country. For my own part, I consider it as nothing less than a question of freedom or slavery; and in proportion to the magnitude of the subject ought to be the freedom of the debate. It is only in this way that we can hope to arrive at the truth, and fulfill the great responsibility which we hold to God and our country. Should I keep back my opinions at such a time, through fear of giving offense, I should consider myself as guilty of treason towards my country, and of an act of disloyalty toward the Majesty of Heaven, which I revere above all earthly kings.
Mr. President, it is natural to man to indulge in the illusions of hope. We are apt to shut our eyes against a painful truth, and listen to the song of that siren till she transforms us into beasts. Is this the part of wise men, engaged in a great and arduous struggle for liberty? Are we disposed to be of the numbers of those who, having eyes, see not, and, having ears, hear not, the things which so nearly concern their temporal salvation? For my part, whatever anguish of spirit it may cost, I am willing to know the whole truth, to know the worst, and to provide for it.
I have but one lamp by which my feet are guided, and that is the lamp of experience. I know of no way of judging of the future but by the past. And judging by the past, I wish to know what there has been in the conduct of the British ministry for the last ten years to justify those hopes with which gentlemen have been pleased to solace themselves and the House. Is it that insidious smile with which our petition has been lately received?
Trust it not, sir; it will prove a snare to your feet. Suffer not yourselves to be betrayed with a kiss. Ask yourselves how this gracious reception of our petition comports with those warlike preparations which cover our waters and darken our land. Are fleets and armies necessary to a work of love and reconciliation? Have we shown ourselves so unwilling to be reconciled that force must be called in to win back our love? Let us not deceive ourselves, sir. These are the implements of war and subjugation; the last arguments to which kings resort. I ask gentlemen, sir, what means this martial array, if its purpose be not to force us to submission? Can gentlement assign any other possible motive for it? Has Great Britain any enemy, in this quarter of the world, to call for all this accumulation of navies and armies? No, sir, she has none. They are meant for us: they can be meant for no other. They are sent over to bind and rivet upon us those chains which the British ministry have been so long forging. And what have we to oppose to them? Shall we try argument? Sir, we have been trying that for the last ten years. Have we anything new to offer upon the subject? Nothing. We have held the subject up in every light of which it is capable; but it has been all in vain. Shall we resort to entreaty and humble supplication? What terms shall we find which have not been already exhausted? Let us not, I beseech you, sir, deceive ourselves. Sir, we have done everything that could be done to avert the storm which is now coming on. We have petitioned; we have remonstrated; we have supplicated; we have prostrated ourselves before the throne, and have implored its interposition to arrest the tyrannical hands of the ministry and Parliament. Our petitions have been slighted; our remonstrances have produced additional violence and insult; our supplications have been disregarded; and we have been spurned, with contempt, from the foot of the throne! In vain, after these things, may we indulge the fond hope of peace and reconciliation.
There is no longer any room for hope. If we wish to be free--if we mean to preserve inviolate those inestimable privileges for which we have been so long contending--if we mean not basely to abandon the noble struggle in which we have been so long engaged, and which we have pledged ourselves never to abandon until the glorious object of our contest shall be obtained--we must fight! I repeat it, sir, we must fight! An appeal to arms and to the God of hosts is all that is left us! They tell us, sir, that we are weak; unable to cope with so formidable an adversary. But when shall we be stronger? Will it be the next week, or the next year? Will it be when we are totally disarmed, and when a British guard shall be stationed in every house? Shall we gather strength but irresolution and inaction? Shall we acquire the means of effectual resistance by lying supinely on our backs and hugging the delusive phantom of hope, until our enemies shall have bound us hand and foot? Sir, we are not weak if we make a proper use of those means which the God of nature hath placed in our power. The millions of people, armed in the holy cause of liberty, and in such a country as that which we possess, are invincible by any force which our enemy can send against us. Besides, sir, we shall not fight our battles alone. There is a just God who presides over the destinies of nations, and who will raise up friends to fight our battles for us. The battle, sir, is not to the strong alone; it is to the vigilant, the active, the brave. Besides, sir, we have no election. If we were base enough to desire it, it is now too late to retire from the contest. There is no retreat but in submission and slavery! Our chains are forged! Their clanking may be heard on the plains of Boston! The war is inevitable--and let it come! I repeat it, sir, let it come.
It is in vain, sir, to extentuate the matter. Gentlemen may cry, Peace, Peace--but there is no peace. The war is actually begun! The next gale that sweeps from the north will bring to our ears the clash of resounding arms! Our brethren are already in the field! Why stand we here idle? What is it that gentlemen wish? What would they have? Is life so dear, or peace so sweet, as to be purchased at the price of chains and slavery? Forbid it, Almighty God! I know not what course others may take; but as for me, give me liberty or give me death!

What a Choice....

This story from the internet news service, The Morning Call, Dec. 18, 2009, is an important example of what often constitutes a woman's "choice" in obtaining an abortion.


 "A former Bethlehem man accused of putting a gun in his girlfriend's mouth because she wouldn't get an abortion saw the case against him dropped on Thursday.

Jonathan R. Stock, 28, of Hackettstown, N.J., appeared for his preliminary hearing, but the woman he was accused of attacking didn't. That led to prosecutors withdrawing charges that included aggravated assault.

Authorities say Stock is a member of the Pagans motorcycle gang and District Judge James Narlesky's hearing was held at the county courthouse in Easton for security.

But without the testimony of now-ex-girlfriend Tammy Smith, 31, the prosecution's case couldn't proceed.

''She's concerned for her safety,'' Assistant District Attorney Patricia Mulqueen said of Smith's absence.

Stock still faces separate charges stemming from a police search of the East Boulevard apartment he formerly shared with Smith. He's accused of possessing drug paraphernalia and marijuana, and Mulqueen added Thursday a felony charge of receiving stolen property.

The search was conducted within days of Smith's October report that Stock had choked her, pulled her hair, put a gun in her mouth and threatened to kill her.

She said Stock had wanted her to get an abortion, they argued, and he attacked her, according to court records.

Stock's attorney, Tommaso Lonardo, said his client was innocent of the assault and is innocent in the second case. He said there's no proof that the items police seized were Stock's, since Smith also lived there.

Lonardo said Stock is an honorably discharged Marine who served in Iraq, Afghanistan and Kosovo and who has worked for a New Jersey trucking company for five years. Lonardo dismissed claims by authorities that Stock is a Pagans member.

'''Prove it,' is what I've been asking them,'' Lonardo said. ''It is only from a girl who refuses to come to court.''

In the second case, a preliminary hearing has yet to be scheduled. Narlesky set bail at $35,000, with $3,500 needed to secure release. The amount was higher than Lonardo requested, but less than Mulqueen sought.

Five family members and Stock's current girlfriend came to the court hearing. As he was led away in handcuffs by a sheriff's deputy, they wept."


  Very often, an immature man, unwilling to financially support the child he fathered, resorts to violence or emotional withdrawal from the woman who loves him enough to have his baby. Whether or not the status of the relationship can be judged morally right or wrong is irrelevant to the point. So often, the woman is coerced to kill the life inside her because she buckles under the pressure of the threats levied against her, which may be emotional or physical. This is more common than most people realize!
  Abortions that are too easy to obtain results in many instances of violence against women. Because the women are embarrassed to talk about this, it is not general knowledge. Pro-abortionists callously look the other way from stories like these because they say they are protecting a woman's choice! So often, all they are protecting is the greater chance that a woman will be physically forced or emotionally blackmailed into taking a life that they want to keep. Some choice......

"The whole world needs to adopt China's one-child policy" -Commentary

  Diane Francis in an article entitled "The Real Inconvenient Truth" and sub-titled, "The whole world needs to adopt China's one-child policy" ( Financial Post published on December 08, 2009, Canada) had this to say:
"The 'inconvenient truth' overhanging the UN's Copenhagen conference is not that the climate is warming or cooling, but that humans are overpopulating the world.
   Oh boy. When I began to read the entire article I thought it had to be a joke, a parody on communism. But no, the writer wrote genuinely, although, in my opinion, insanely, on the virtues of  the one child per family rule. I was under the illusion, apparently, that even non-Christians in the west believed this policy to be barbaric. I am now even more aware of the fact that we are living in barbaric times. That we even have to debate partial-birth abortion is an enormous indicator of how far we have declined morally, even humanly, in the past one hundred years in this nation.
  When the government rules our child-birth rates, we will have lost every right as citizens and will no longer be living in a free nation. Look for more insane ranting of this "one-child policy" vein in the future. The problem is, the noise starts small, but it grows. Fifty years ago, who would have thought that there would be debate on same sex marriages, let alone civil unions? Who would have thought that it would be legal to kill an unborn baby?
   We need to be aware of  global conversations because of the threat that those from other lands will influence or even direct our nation's laws. The UN endorses abortions and promotes the idea of global warming (as if the climate has never changed before). We need to pray that the UN will not advance it's ideas into our nation's laws. As a one-world government continues to advance towards our shores we need to be aware that this change can be insidious just as evil can be insidious. 
  Our basic human rights regarding reproductive freedom are at risk as this evil rhetoric from the vocal few climbs and creeps into national and international conversations.

Urgency

  Time really is of the essence here. As Republicans and Democrats grapple over wording in the Senate health care debate, the usual verbal assaulting and complaints are rampant. One accusation that has ruffled my conscientious feathers is that Republicans are purposely trying to ruin President Obama's career by holding out for anti-abortion language in the new measure for health insurance coverage. Are they not aware that this has been an issue ever since the Roe vs. Wade decision thirty-six years ago and has little to nothing to with a political agenda? It goes much deeper than that for most folks. This is a matter of conscience, ethics, and for many, their understanding of God.

  Many Democrats are also speaking and promising to vote their consciences on this issue. They don't want our government, with our tax dollars, to pay for abortions either, directly or indirectly. By indirectly, I mean that if the bill is not worded correctly then abortion providers could still be paid by using federal subsidies. This debate certainly crosses party lines for the reason that it's not about political parties! It's about babies! It's about those cute cuddly things we see in movies and on greeting cards. It's about our humanity. It's about our standing before God.
  The Stupak ammendment, you may have heard about, seeks to avoid any government funding of abortions by prohibiting federal subsidies to health plan providers who cover abortions. If a woman wanted an abortion she would have to buy her own plan and not expect our taxes to pay for it. No government money should be used to fund the killing of an unborn child.
  As I mentioned before, we are riding a turbulent wave and a crash on the rocky shore is imminent if we continue to turn a blind eye to the horrendous impact of the taking of millions of innocent lives in our country.

Our imperfections


 More verses from Psalm 139:

16) Thine eyes did see my substance, yet being unperfect;
        and in thy book all my members were written,
         which in continuance were fashioned,
         when as yet there was none of them. 

17) How precious also are thy thoughts unto me, O God!
        How great is the sum of them!


We know that King David (the author of this Psalm) was not perfect. The Bible records his victories, his righteousness and his failings as well.
Not one of us has been born perfect. Some just have greater and/or different problems. We're living in an imperfect world and nothing will be perfect until Jesus comes again!
We do need to do what we can do to make life better, more tolerable, less painful and to show more compassion. But we do not have the authority from God to take the life of one who  does not measure up to our standards of perfection.
This is is a dangerous precedent and a slippery slope. Just how perfect must we be in order to earn the right to live?
 The Bible tells us that there was only one perfect one and that was Jesus. We can never measure up to His standard of perfection. Yet He allows us to live and not only for a natural lifespan; he offers us the opportunity of Eternal life! Life is of extreme importance to Jesus.

When we abort babies we are placing ourselves on a level with God, deciding who may live and who may die. Have we been ordained as the givers and the takers of life? Are we to judge who may live and who may die based upon convenience and an imperfect standard of perfection? "
Jesus said about the woman "taken in adultery", "He who is without sin among you, let him first cast a stone at her." I ask, which of us is perfect so that we may judge whether to commit a life of an unborn baby to death?



Life for the Privileged

  Is life just for the privileged? Is it an option? Is it right for some to live and some not to live? 
Bearing children is becoming more and more like a trip to Walmart. First we check our pockets. Do we have enough money? Next we check our calendar. Do we have the time? Do we have the ability to pay for maintenance? What about colors? Sizes? Ability to store information? Oh, this is all being done scientifically now in the genetic circles. What ever happened to just accepting the blessing of a child? 
 Well, one might say, "We don't want any with defects!" To be sure, no one wants that. But God gives us challenges in our lives. Many of the children born with disabilities have given those that are caring for them a new capacity to love and nurture that they never thought they had. We learn, we grow. In my job working with disadvantaged and troubled children (many mentally and emotionally so) I have found a deeper ability to love those who may, on the surface, seem unlovable.
  Here is the privilege - to love.

The Obama Plan

  I just read "The Obama Plan: Stability and Security for all Americans.", the official White House statement on the health care/insurance discussion. I scoured the statement for some mention that tax dollars will not fund abortions but could find no information on this subject. If America opts to go this route we will be on a fast ride to destruction as a nation.
  Where is the stability for the unborn child? 

  In Psalm 139, Davis speaks of his creation by God:


14)  I will praise thee; for I am fearfully and wonderfully made:
        marvelous are thy works;
         and that my soul knoweth right well. 

15) My substance was not hid from thee
        when I was made in secret,
         and curiously wrought in the lowest parts of the earth. 



Let's pray for awareness in this country and that we not trample upon God's laws while creating new laws and policies for ourselves.

Rise Up America!

It's not too late to stop the carnage from continuing. We've waged a silent war against our unborn little ones. Very few people speak about it except in political circles. It's so horrifying that we are afraid to hear it's ugly name: abortion. It's a topical conversation that no one wants to have. Preachers should be shouting from the pulpits and we all should be shouting from the housetops! The voices of the never-born have been crying silently and we can not hear them! They were not given the opportunity to cry out! We must cry out for them.
Are we so blind to the horror of the deaths of nearly 50,000,000 babies since the infamous Roe vs. Wade decision that we will allow it to continue mindlessly, heartlessly and shamelessly? We all should be ashamed of our proclivity to sit on our hands when action needs to be taken. We need to speak up and be the voice of approximately 50,000,000 babies crying for an end to the injustice. It has long been known that unborn babies feel the pain of abortion and yet who but a monster would hurt a baby he can see? "Out of sight, out of mind", so goes the old adage. But we will all be held accountable when we stand before the Lord, individually and as a nation.
 This country is already being judged. The economic sanctions we are feeling for our disobedience to God's laws are being attributed to many factors, but the one great underlying factor is mostly ignored. As a nation we are living contrary to the laws of God. "Thou shalt not kill." (Exodus 20:13) Many good Bible translations interpret the word kill to actually mean "murder" in the original Hebrew.
 When our laws endorse murder, how can we expect to be blessed by our Lord?
 We are riding a wave, in this nation, of coercing those who don't believe in killing pre-born children, to pay for abortion services for those that do. National health care and insurance conversations include classifying abortions as health care. There is even conversation which would include abortion in a preventative healthcare classification. This wave is heavy and strong and I fear that we will crash on the rocks. The Hebrew word for "kill" is "ratsach"* which my Strong's Concordance defines as meaning, besides "murder", "to dash to pieces".  These little ones are broken in pieces during an abortion as their lives are deliberately taken. I fear that we will be dashed to pieces as a nation, when and if this wave we are riding finally hits the rocks on the beach and the taking of human lives is not only condoned but actually federally funded.

Advent

  The Christian Church calendar places us in the season of Advent, a period of time in which we prepare for the birth of the baby Jesus. It's a joyful time; it's a time of expectancy. We bustle about buying presents and buying decorations. We bake and exchange cookies. We prepare our homes. We sing.
  The birth of every baby is a joyous occasion. The period proceeding the birth should be a time of happy planning and yes, singing. Long ago in Galilee, in a little town called Nazareth, Mary, the mother of Jesus, looked toward the day when she would bear her first child. While there was joy, to be sure, she was not without cause for anxiety. She was not yet married to the babies father! Besides, they had to embark upon an arduous journey by donkey to another town right around her "due date"! In our humanity we might think that God could have made it a little easier for the birth of His Firstborn Son. After all, He was to be called the King of kings and the mighty God!* He was the Messiah (Anointed One)!
  Just as Mary was not without her share of complex issues, if thinking about them on a human level, many young women today have crises which arise from their pregnancies. One thing we all have in common with Mary is that we all have access to a Savior who loves us! He is the One who will redeem us when we turn in repentance to Him and ask for forgiveness when we've gone astray from His desire for our lives. Mary submitted her will to the Father who loves us all. Won't you submit your will to Him today?

Love, Repentance and Forgiveness

Pray with me and others who treasure the heritage we have in our children. Jesus said, "Suffer (let) little children to come unto me, and forbid them not: for of such is the kingdom of God." (Luke 18:16b,c KJV)

Jesus was concerned with the innocent, but He also preached a Gospel of repentance and forgiveness as we see below.
"Then said he unto the disciples, It is impossible but that offences will come: but woe unto him, through whom they come! It were better for him that a millstone were hanged about his neck, and he cast into the sea, than that he should offend one of these little ones. Take heed to yourselves: If thy brother trespass against thee, rebuke him; and if he repent, forgive him. And if he trespass against thee seven times in a day, and seven times in a day turn again to thee, saying, I repent; thou shalt forgive him." (Luke 17:1-4 KJV)

When we repent of sin, God forgives us. If you have had an abortion, Jesus is waiting to take you into his arms in forgiveness and love.

The Golden Rule and Equal Rights

   This is my first blog. This is my first post. I am moved by the Spirit of God to proclaim loudly and long that our God created life and as our Sovereign King, He alone should determine the beginning and ending of life on earth. We live in an idolatrous time. I believe that the idol we worship the most is Self. What is good for "Me" supersedes all other motives.
   Whatever happened to the Golden Rule? Even non-churchgoers, at one time, knew the maxim, "Do unto others as you would have them do unto you." How can we treat an unborn baby any less than we would treat ourselves? I think that young girls and women (and young boys and men, too) need prodding and conversation to raise their awareness of the life that they carry within them. In a generation that's taught to consider "me, me, me!" first and foremost, there is little hope that many will be aware of others' needs first!
   After all, our young people have been educated to think otherwise. They are taught early on, in our own homes, that they must get into a good nursery school, be the best at what ever sport they or their parents elect for them, they should win the poster contests(!), get the touchdowns(!), be the very BEST! Then along comes an unexpected pregnancy and there goes the dream of the Harvard education, the exciting career, the amazing salary. Gone are the trips for a pedicure as visions of pediatric appointments and diapers and empty baby bottles start to fill the minds of our young folks. And this should be. Rearing a baby into adulthood is a challenge and an obligation to hard work.
   If a young couple or single girl is truly unable to cope emotionally, financially or in any other way with a child, then of course adoption is a viable option. I have known of many married couples who, longing to hold a sweet young one in their arms, have spent thousands of dollars in trying to have a baby, so great was their need to nurture.
   I ask this to any young woman considering an abortion: Please consider placing your gift of life, your unborn baby, in the home of a man and woman who would love your infant and raise that little one as you feel that you are unable to do. You would be helping a loving couple as well as loving your baby enough to give him life. God chose you to have this baby.
   Either way, raising your baby yourself or giving your baby up for adoption, requires selflessness. It requires putting your baby's needs above your own. That's what parenting is all about.
   A good English translation of the New Testament, the
Weymouth New Testament says "Everything, therefore, be it what it may, that you would have men do to you, do you also the same to them; for in this the Law and the Prophets are summed up." (Matthew 7:12) The Bible is saying that God has been telling us, through His prophets and the rules He has given us to live by, that we are to treat others as we would want to be treated. Unborn babies and all others who can not speak for themselves ought to have equal rights. If they can't speak for themselves then we need to speak for them as we would want to speak for ourselves. Mothers of the unborn: What would your baby say? Would he want to live or would he want to die?
